The iLoyalists have spoken...

Today's Notable Quote: (from Ben McConnell and Jackie Huba's Church of the Customer blog) "Because of many things having to do with the care and feeding of a brand with cultish devotion, iLoyalty is never rational."

Rational thinking about the features and related benefits of a product or service seldom (if ever) result in cultish passion and devotion. In his book The Culing of Brands, author Douglas Atkin describes a cult brand as "a brand for which a group of customers exhibit a great devotion or dedication. Its ideology is distinctive and it has a well-defined and committed community. It enjoys exclusive devotion (that is, not shared with another brand in the same category), and its members often become voluntary advocates." Sound familiar?
